INTERNATIONAL BOAT SHOW 2008
Twenty five thousand enthusiastic
visitors attended the annual Dubai International Boat
Show hosted at the Dubai International Marine Club,
Minah Seyahi, Dubai between the 11th and 15th of March
2008.
The 2008 show overshadowed
previous shows and the Dubai Waterfront, despite massive
construction works in progress, was a hive of marine
activity with visitors from all over the world enduring
record attendance queues to get a glimpse of the fresh
brands and new boats professionally displayed for all
to view. Top brands from all over the world were exhibiting
their products as well as internationally competitive
local manufacturers. ASIS, displayed a comprehensive
range of boats clearing demonstrating the manufacturers
ascendancy and dominance in this boat category within
the Middle East.

ASIS sell boats internationally
and although they attend many boat shows world-wide
the Dubai International Boat show remains the company’s
main exhibition. Despite international competition within
the RIB category ASIS remains the dominant brand of
choice in the middle-east and growing world-wide.
The Dubai International Boat
Show has grown in size and professionalism each year
and the deals concluded are synonymous with this trend.
The size and prominence of
the local brand ASIS is immediately visible by the display
stands towering quadrangular banner system attracting
visitors to the boat displays below.
Once drawn to the stand,
immediately visible is the new flagship 9,8 meter RIB
dressed up in full Coast Guard regalia. The 9,8m RIB
is powered by two new Mercury Verado 300 horsepower
outboard engines. The austere invasive presence of this
craft is capable of safe speeds of up to 60 knots and
is a highly efficient multi –purpose vessel.

ASIS also displayed an Arctic
Blue 8,0m powered by twin 300HP Mercury Racing outboard
engines, an Arctic Grey 7,2m and showcased its classic
multi-purpose perennially popular 6,5m. Visitors were
invited to climb on the boats, sit and experience the
controls as well as walk the decks. All ASIS boats are
manufactured with Orca Hypalon multi layer rubber fabric
imported from France.
Another exciting addition
to the display and range was the introduction of the
light weight two man crew extreme racer RIB powered
by a single 55HP tiller arm outboard motor. ASIS hopes
to introduce this racing category within the next few
years in much the same manner in which the sport has
collected momentum elsewhere around the world.

The Middle East region as
a whole has very accessible water ways, estuaries, rivers
and sea and the benefits of a RIB are highly suited
to recreation, military and commercial users. ASIS has
established customers in the region encompassing all
the user categories.
The Dubai
International Marine Club was once again a highly suitable
venue for the 16th annual International Boat
Show.
